This year, for all movie enthusiasts, the Toronto International Film Festival is coming back! The event will be held September 4–14, 2025, and opens with a “John Candy: I Like Me” by Colin Hanks: a biographical film about comedian John Candy, which uses archival Candy footage and starring Tom Hanks and Steve Martin.
TIFF is also celebrating its 50th anniversary, and to celebrate 50 years of movie history they released special collectible merchandise and organized a prize raffle.
The screening will take place at the famous TIFF Lightbox, as well as a number of other venues, including Cineplex’s Scotiabank Theatre Toronto and the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
The TIFF Tribute Awards Gala will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
